Patrick Freyne and His Bad Intentions are in the development stages at the moment so they don't want to be too specific about how they sound, but they use various stringed instruments, toy instruments, and electronic beats, and they all like to sing.

They really want to write music that makes people feel safe, but with danger lurking just out of view. Some of their early gigs are available on the download page as well as a video Patrick made for the NPB's I'm Not Square and a couple of songs Patrick and Les recorded last summer.

If you want an idea of where they are coming from, Patrick Freyne used to play art-rock with the NPB and country duets with El Diablo, and between the two bands he has released five albums and 8 singles/EPs on the Catchy Go Go Label www.catchygogorecords.com.

He has toured with the Handsome Family and the Willard Grant Conspiracy and played with Goldfrapp, Calexico, Gorky's Zygotic Mynkie, the D4, Snow Patrol, the Frames, and lots of other bands he can't remember.

All that is merely the musical CV with which he tries to impress people. It rarely works. Most people say: " Well how come I've never heard of you?" which hurts his feelings.

Patrick Freyne and his Bad Intentions like independent music, seventies country rock, metal, low-fi music and Girls Aloud.

They also like talking to people, country walks, books on history, books on psychology, organising things alphabetically, crisp dry winter mornings, making lists, George Hook, cottages in Wales, drinking coffee, drinking tea, drinking beer, drinking whiskey, drinking water, going for drives, singing around the house, and radio 4.

Patrick Freyne and his Bad Intentions all met while doing a masters in Music and Media Technology in Trinity College. This made them very pragmatic and self-sufficient. Like the A-Team they all have individual specialities which I won't go into here.

Eoin Mac Ionmhain (Calico Jak),
and Frances Mitchell (Moya Brennan's band).
They are currently working out how to record their album in Jack's sitting room.
